Derek Chauvin found guilty of murdering George Floyd

 

Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin has been convicted of murder after kneeling on George Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes until he died 

After hours of deliberations, the jury returned its verdict against Chauvin, finding him guilty on all three counts: second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

Thousands of people who had gathered outside the courthouse in Minneapolis erupted in celebration as the verdict was read.
